At ISR North Miami, our mission is simple yet life-changing: to save lives through survival swim lessons.

We are proud to be part of Infant Swimming Resource (ISR), a program founded in 1966 and recognized nationwide for its Self-Rescue® training—the safest and most effective survival swimming lessons for infants and young children. With over 50 years of research, highly trained instructors, and a proven track record of success, ISR has taught over 300,000 children how to survive in the water, with more than 800 documented cases of children saving themselves using ISR techniques.

While pool barriers, supervision, and alarms are essential for water safety, the truth is, they are not always enough. Tragically, drowning remains the leading cause of accidental death for children ages 1-4, with over 4,000 drownings occurring each year. That's why ISR focuses on what truly makes a difference: equipping children with the survival skills they need in case they ever find themselves in the water alone.

 

Our Story

ISR North Miami was founded when three individuals—Leire, Yiya, and Randy—came together with one shared mission: to prevent childhood drownings. Coming from different backgrounds, our passion for teaching life-saving skills united us. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to be safe in and around water, and through ISR, we are making that a reality.

As a bilingual team, we are proud to offer lessons in both English and Spanish, ensuring we can serve as many families as possible in our community. Every lesson we teach is driven by our dedication to water safety, drowning prevention, and the belief that drowning is preventable with education, proper training, and layers of protection.
